OAKLAND, Calif. —
The cycle enthusiasts that gathered at Pedalfest in Oakland’s Jack London Square not only got a good cardio work-out, but also got to see festive two-wheeled entertainment like bike-centric artisans, pedal-powered food, beer, trivia, live music and more.
As the Bay Area’s largest bicycle festival, patrons got to see stunt shows, pedal powered live music stage, bicycle parades, folding bike races, pedal powered carnival rides.
“Oakland is home to a thriving bicycling community which makes Jack London Square’s waterfront the perfect venue to bring everyone together for this one-day bike-centric event,” said East Bay Bicycle Coalition Executive Director Renee Rivera. “Pedalfest is also a great event for bicycle lovers to enjoy with their families. This special day included all kinds of hands-on bike-themed activities, rides, rodeos, food and even a parade for children of all ages.”
The two attractions that got a ton of attention at the event were the Whiskeydrome and the Pedal Powered Stage. The Whiskeydrome Stunt Action included cycling daredevils that rode at thrilling speeds and performed exciting stunts in a 30-foot banked wooden velodrome.
